About the Artist

Ivy Ermert is a New York-based makeup artist. Her more recent credits include Makeup Department Head for the upcoming character-driven dramedy film trilogy Happy Hours , written, directed by, and starring Katie Holmes, alongside Joshua Jackson, and produced by Maven Screen Media.

She was the Makeup Department Head for Eleanor the Great, the feature directorial debut of Scarlett Johansson, which premiered at Festival de Cannes in 2025, and was nominated for the Un Certain Regard and Camera D’Or awards.

Prior to these films, she collaborated as the Makeup Designer on Ryan Murphy-produced, four-time Emmy-Nominated Netflix Docu Series The Andy Warhol Diaries, the Head of Makeup for three-time Emmy-Nominated, Golden Globe-Awarded Hulu Original Series Ramy, Netflix Film’s Christmas With You, and Tracy Oliver’s Amazon/ NBC Universal Series Harlem.

Her makeup contributions in TV and film represent a diverse range of content and voices, and have also appeared internationally including film festivals Berlin, Cannes, Sundance, Sundance London, SXSW, Toronto, Tribeca, and Venice.

Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground acquired rights to 2020 biographical film Worth starring Michael Keaton, Amy Ryan and Stanley Tucci, directed by Sara Colangelo; for which Ivy was Makeup Department Head and personal makeup artist to Michael Keaton. The film premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Netflix in September 2021 in honor of the twenty year anniversary of September 11th.

Worth was Ivy’s second collaboration with director Sara Colangelo since Maven’s The Kindergarten Teacher that premiered at Sundance in 2018, and won Colangelo the U.S. Dramatic Directing Award. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gael Garcia Bernal, Michael Chernus, Anna Baryshnikov, Parker Sevak, and Rosa Salazar starred.

Ivy’s other work includes collaborations with directors like Barry Jenkins, Guy Nativ, Ti West, Mike Birbiglia, and Gary Scott Thompson. She currently spends time between New York City and The Hudson Valley.
